Lowe's Company Description

Lowe's is an American chain of hardware and home improvement stores that has been in business for over 70 years. Lowe's was founded in 1946 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina and it has grown into the second-largest hardware chain in the United States, just behind The Home Depot. In the early days, Lowe's anticipated an increase in construction after World War II, so the store focused explicitly on hardware and building materials. This has resulted in making the store a leader in the market and a go-to choice for customers.

Lowe's has operated and serviced over 2,390 locations in the United States, Canada, and Mexico and is serving more than 18 million customers a week. Lowe's gives back to the community and helps through programs that focus on K-12 public education and improvement projects for the community. Lowe's also supports the military and offers 10% military discounts for everyday purchases either online or in store. The company provides many job opportunities that range from working in retail stores, working at the corporate level, being involved with distribution, and working at contact centers.

Looking to the future, Lowe's is at the forefront when it comes to pairing hardware with software to help its customers find the right product in their big-box stores. Lowe's is turning to AI technologies to give both their customers and employees a helping hand. Its "LoweBot," an in-store autonomous robot was launched in 2017 and has since helped improve the retail chain through various applications ranging from discovering empty spaces on store shelves to improve inventory, to augmented/VR visualization so customers can see how products will look in their homes.

Lowe's has always been a name synonymous with home improvement, hardware tools, and appliances to get projects completed within communities, big or small.
